SUPPORT WORKERS

Our support workers play an integral role in all our clients’ life journey, walking alongside them to achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life.

We are currently seeking committed Support Workers with a combination of the right values, knowledge, skills and experience to support our clients in achieving their goals.

Duties and tasks includes a complete variety of tasks including:

  • end to end personal care
  • home duties including cleaning, laundry, cooking for the participant
  • manual handling which may include hoisting, pushing a wheelchair and strapping in a van, lifting light to moderate loads and driving
  • building life skills which include mentoring individuals on positive decision making
  • community support which includes transporting and escorting clients to appointments and activities
  • medication administration and assistance
  • other required duties aligned to individual support plans
  • Besides physical and medical assistance you would also need to show you care about the patient by interacting and listening to them, every day will be different and a chance to make a difference.

You will need to possess:

  • a positive, respectful, nurturing and attitude
  • excellent communication skills which include adaptable communication styles
  • computer skills
  • a current national police clearance (acquired within the last 6 months)
  • a current first aid and CPR qualification
  • a current WA drivers licence
  • a reliable and roadworthy vehicle which you are willing to use for work
  • a certificate III in individual support with a relevant speciality
  • experience supporting people with multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease and acquired brain injury would be advantageous
  • additional skill-sets such as PEG feeding, Epilepsy management, dysphagia, cough assist machines and catheter care will be highly regarded

Full-time and Part-time hours available

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Afternoon shift
  • Day shift
  • Flexible hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Rotating roster
  • Shift work

Work Eligibility:

  • Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (e.g. citizen, permanent resident) (Preferred)
  • a certificate III in individual support or equivalent
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Certificate of completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module

SUPPORT CO-ORDINATORS


You must have:

  • Current Police Check or willing to obtain
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Certificate of completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Referee Checks

We require individuals who are reliable, flexible, and adaptable with the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Able to deal with complex situations in a calmly manner
  • Interpersonal skills, active listening, empathy, social awareness, and emotional intelligence in communications
  • Maintain information about clients from clinical assessment and reports
  • Ability to relate to participants, their family, carers and work with them as a team to achieve the participant’s goals
  • High level interpersonal skills, time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • A high level of comfort working with targets, and ideally experience with a billable hours model
  • Past experience in case management or practical experience within the disability sector
  • Extensive knowledge of the NDIS rules and regulations
  • Must have own reliable vehicle

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Liaise with participant, family members, carers, providers and NDIS
  • Develop and documenting participants NDIS plans accordingly
  • Driving to meet with participant/s and/or their family members in own vehicle.

Full time or Part Time available.  Salary Negotiable.
